I first met Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh (Thay) in 2002. I was introduced to the practice of mindfulness in the Plum Village tradition by my brother-in-law. I am forever grateful to Thay’s teaching and his monastic students. In 2004, I was fortunate to be ordained into the Order of Interbeing and received the Dharma title “True Mountain of Compassion.”
The practice of mindfulness is very important and powerful to me. When feeling overwhelmed, I come back to my breathing to take care of my emotions, and become calm and relaxed, while transforming negative energy. In my free time, I love to cook for my family and tend my garden. I also enjoy volunteering my time to cook and serve food to the community.
I am passionate to be part of Planting Seeds as I know this wonderful spiritual land will benefit many children and adults for all the generations to come. I know it will be a peaceful place to love, nourish, learn, grow, heal, and deepen the practice of mindfulness.
My Thanh’s favorite quote from Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh
